The Cartels Didn't Get Me, But the Mosquitos Did...

So we returned from our Mexican wedding adventure last night and I came home with some unwanted souvenirs - About 10 HUGE mosquito bites!!! Other than that, we had a wonderful time at Karen's wedding. The resort was very nice and the view was incredible. If it weren't for the fact that people are dying left and right, I would go back to Riviera Maya very soon! Of course, we spent most of our time talking about and looking at pictures and videos of Abby so I am not sure we are going to want to go anywhere without her for awhile.

I know it has been a while since I blogged and lots of exciting things have happened. I've just been so busy with things, that I simply haven't had much time to gather my thoughts. So be prepared - this could be a long one!

Abby's Birthday Party was a Huge Success - I hope to post pics soon but in the meantime, a short summary will have to do. First of all, we moved the party up a couple of weeks in order to make sure it happened before my mom's surgery. While the invitations were incorrect, they were still pretty cute. We had about 25 people and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Her cake from Society Bakery was absolutely adorable but I do not recommend substantial use of dark blue icing for anything child-related. She looked like a smurf when she was finished with the cake! She got tons of great presents and seemed to really enjoy herself.

Abby is Walking - Yep. She's been close for a while but finally took the plunge a couple of weeks ago and has been on the go ever since. She kinda alternates between crawling and walking but she can walk 20 or 30 feet now without falling down although she looks like drunk while doing so.

Abby Starts School on Friday - It will be her first day and I think she will love it. She will be attending Park Cities Baptist Church preschool. I met her teacher last week and everyone in the place was very nice and sweet. I think she will love it although I hope she doesn't try to kiss(bite) or hug (tackle) the other kids. She is one of the youngest in her class so I think it will be OK. I am looking forward to a long night of labeling tomorrow night! I will give everyone an update after her first day.

After we pick her up on Friday, we will head to Houston for the weekend to visit Mom. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers and keep them up this week as the surgery is scheduled for tomorrow.
