Last night, we had our second consecutive night of waking up at 4am. On Monday morning, I was convinced that the early wake up call was my fault for not waking Abby up for her last bottle at 10pm after she went to sleep around 8pm. This morning, I know it wasn't the lack of bottle that caused the problem because last night, I did get her up at 9 to have that last one and she still got up at 4am. We did our typical attempt to sleep in the recliner routine which worked until she grew so much. Now she just wiggles the entire time because she is so long, she can't get comfortable. Abby wiggles = mommy's dark circles under her eyes. While certainly not the end of the world, it wasn't a pleasant experience and it is definitely one I am hoping to avoid tonight.
While I trust God's decision making capabilites, did He take a break when He was designing lifetime sleeping habits for us girls? Menopausal women have insomnia while new moms are exhausted. Shouldn't He have just switched those two?

Why does it seem like the nights we REALLY need a good night sleep are the nights they wake up?! I hope you get some solid ZZZs tonight. Betsy has been waking up at night too and I don't know what to think of it!
ReplyDeleteThen there is the time "you" are awake late hours just hoping she will be home before or by curfew....she's just breaking you in!
